How Do I Watch Disney+ on a Samsung TV

1. Introduction

Disney+ supports a wide variety of smart TVs and other streaming devices. While Disney+ will work on most Samsung TVs, there are a few known compatibility issues with older models. We'll go over which TVs are supported and which aren't, and give you alternative options for getting Disney+ working on your TV.

2. Samsung TVs that support Disney+

If your Samsung TV is from 2016 or later (and supports HD video), you'll be able to play Disney+ content as long as it uses the Tizen operating system (seen below).

If your TV menu doesn't look like the image below, then it's likely that you are running an older Samsung TV which will not support Disney+. Alternatively, you can look at the serial number behind your TV. If the serial number contains the letters MU, NU, RU, or SU, that means it supports Disney+.

To download the Disney+ app, go into the apps section of the TV (highlighted below in green) and try to search for the Disney+ app. If it does not show up in the app store, then that means your TV is not supported.

After searching for the app, select the Disney+ icon and then click on "Add to Home". Once the icon is in place, you can open the app and sign up for a new account, or log into an account if you already have one.

It's recommended that you sign up for Disney+ via the website on a computer or smartphone/tablet, as it's much faster to enter in your information that way, as opposed to using your TV remote.

3. Media Streaming Devices

Another popular way to watch Disney+ is through a standalone media streaming hub that you can simply stick into any free HDMI slot your TV. This is especially helpful if there are TVs in your home that don't have "smart" capabilities, but you want to add them, or have access to apps and features that aren't supported by your current smart TV.

There are lots of options out there, most of them being under $100.
