Activate Lost Mode

In the Find My app, read the details of what will happen if you activate Lost Mode and then tap Continue. You’re then asked to enter an alternate phone number where you can be contacted if someone finds your phone.

 On the next screen, type the message that you want to be displayed to someone who finds your phone. Tap Next.

 Review the summary at the next screen and tap Activate. Your phone goes into Lost Mode, and Face ID is disabled.

 At iCloud.com, add the alternate number and click Next.

 Type the message you wish to display and click Done. Your phone is locked in Lost Mode, and Face ID is disabled.
