How to Add C by GE Device to Alexa

1. Introduction

C by GE devices such as smart bulbs, switches and plugs can be linked with the Amazon Alexa virtual assistant to be able to control them with only your voice. This guide will help you with that process.

C by GE smart bulbs need to be paired with either a C by GE smart bridge, a smart switch or a smart plug to work with Amazon Alexa.

Before You Begin:

Your C by GE device must be already set up

The Alexa app must be already installed

2. Link C by GE Device

Depending on the Alexa app version you have, the app icons and layout may look different, but the device linking process is the same.

1. Launch the Alexa app on your mobile device.
   

1. Open the Menu from the top left corner.

2. Then select Skills & Games.
   

1. Tap Search in the top right corner.
   

1. Then type in "cbyge" and select the found C by GE Alexa skill.
   

1. After that tap Enable.
   

1. Type in your C by GE account login information and tap Sign In.
   

1. Once you linked your C by GE account with Alexa, tap Done in the top left.
   

1. Then tap Discover Devices.
   

1. Wait for the Alexa app to discover your C by GE devices.
   

1. Your devices will then be added to the Alexa app.
   

1. From this point on you can organize the newly added devices the way you prefer and control them using your voice.
