How to Check Connection on LG Smart TV

1. Introduction

Making sure your LG Smart TV is connected to the Internet is often helpful to make sure your various services, such as Netflix, will operate properly. It is also helpful if you wish to make certain changes to your home network, to ensure the continued operation of your LG Smart TV.

This guide will take you through, step by step, locating the network settings.

2. Determine Platform

We must determine which platform is loaded on your LG Smart TV before beginning. Newer TVs released after 2014 will have webOS. Older models released between 2011 and 2015 will have NetCast. See the images below to help tell the difference.

3. Check Network Status

1. Push the Home button on your remote.
   

1. Select the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
   

1. Select All Settings at the bottom right.
   

1. Select Network. Then, look under Wired Conection (Ethernet) and Wi-Fi Connection; one will state that it is "Connected to Internet". Select the item that is connected.
   

1. On this screen, you'll be shown if you are connected (at the top), as well as all information related to your connection.
   

4. Check Network Status

1. Press the Settings button on your remote.
   

1. Select Network, then Network Status.
