This Guide will help you resolve Apple HomeKit issues for your ecobee Smart Thermostat. Some of these issues include: what to do if your ecobee isn't responding in the home app and simple hub syncing issues when you wish to control your thermostat away from home through the Apple HomeKit application.
Tools You'll Need:

Supplies You'll Need:
-->
Before You Begin:
You must have your ecobee device and your Apple Homekit set up.
Your ecobee must already be connected to your HomeKit.
You must have your ecobee and Apple Homekit apps installed.

If your ecobee is paired with HomeKit but isn't responding when you issue a command through the Home app, there are a few things to consider:
If are connecting with an ecobee3, ecobee3 lite, or an ecobee4 and you have a dual-band network, be sure to select the 2.4Ghz network from the list.

Make sure your ecobee and your iPhone are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

If you have other HomeKit accessories paired, check and see if those accessories are responding to commands through the Home app. If none of your HomeKit-enabled accessories are responding, there may an issue on your network that requires further investigating.
If it’s only the ecobee that isn’t responding, you'll need to reboot and reconnect your ecobee from the Apple Home app.

If your ecobee is still unresponsive after deleting and re-pairing with HomeKit, please reach out to Ecobee's Support team at 1-877-932-6233 for further assistance.
