How to Fix Missing Featured Apps on a Sony Smart TV

1. Introduction

Your Sony Android TV has a number of default apps that come pre-installed out of the box. Sometimes, they may stop working, or may go missing altogether.

This guide will walk you through reinstalling the Android TV Launcher, which may restore missing or problematic apps. If this does not work, your TV will need to be reset to factory settings.

2. Uninstall Android TV Launcher

Push the Home button on your remote.

Select Settings.

Select Apps.

Select the Android TV Launcher app from the list.
Select Uninstall to remove the app.

3. Factory Data Reset

This will remove any and all customizations from your Smart TV, and require it to be re-setup, re-customized, and reconnected to the Internet.

Push the Home button on your remote.

Select Settings.

Select Storage & reset.
