When troubleshooting your Comcast X1 DVR Box you'll need to know how to reboot it. Rebooting it will clear any memory issues and let the DVR start with a clean slate. Restarting your DVR is often the first step in troubleshooting it and often the only step needed.
There are three ways to reboot your DVR box:
Keep in mind, depending when you restart your DVR, your recording may be interrupted. If you're restarting while the DVR is recording, it will disrupt the recording. Already recorded and scheduled recordings as well as preferences will not be lost.

If you have access to it, the help menu is an easy way to reboot your DVR Box.
If you can't reach the Help Menu or the Help Menu doesn't work, you can use the button the front of the DVR.
If neither the Help Menu nor the Power Button works, you should just remove the power plug from the box.
