In this guide, you will learn how to restore files/folders from Carbonite backup on a Mac Computers.
Follow the steps below to restore files from Carbonite Backup
1. Open your System Preferences from the Apple icon in your menu bar
2. Select Carbonite
3. Click the Restore tab
4. Browse to the file you wish to restore. Once located, click the file to select it
Grayed-out files that appear here are not backed up
5. Choosing a Restore Location
Restore files to, Allows you to choose the location to which your data will be restored
6. Make your selection and click Restore Selected Item(s)
If you wish to choose a different restore location, click one of the other buttons.
Now just sit back and relax while your files are restored to your computer
Follow the steps below to Install or Reinstall Carbonite Safe
You can reinstall Carbonite Safe on your existing Mac to update Carbonite to the latest version, fix common issues, and add improvements to the software
1. Sign in to your Carbonite account at https://account.carbonite.com
2. Once signed in, select Computer options and click Reinstall Carbonite for the backup you wish to reinstall on this computer
3. Click the Download now button to download the Carbonite setup file, Run the file when the download completes
4. Double-click the Carbonite file to start the installation process.
5. As you go through this process you'll then be walked through a step-by-step procedure where you'll be prompted to agree to Carbonite's Terms of Service, select an install location, and have to type in the password you use to log into your Mac
6. you'll eventually get a screen that tells you that the installation was successful, This isn't the end of the installation yet. You'll see another Carbonite screen after that
7. Carbonite will connect to your backup and complete the reinstall.
After you reinstall, please configure Full Disk Access so Carbonite can back up your files. You can now add, remove, or restore files on your computer. You can also use Carbonite to determine the status of your backup.
