THIS GUIDE WILL HELP SOFTWARE UPDATE ON THE HERMAN JBL BAR 5.1

The JBL Bar 5.1 transforms from a soundbar into a true wireless 5.1 home theater system for an epic movie and music-listening experience. The soundbar features two detachable battery-powered wireless surround speakers with up to 10 hours of playtime, 510W of total system power, a 250mm wireless subwoofer, and three HDMI inputs to connect 4K devices, and Bluetooth.

How to Software Update

For optimal product performance and your best user experience, JBL may offer software updates for the soundbar system in the future.

Updating Online

  1. On the soundbar, mount the two detachable speakers when â€œUPDATE FOUND” is displayed.

    → “UPDATING”: Software updating underway

    → â€œDONE”: Software updating completed

For automatic online upgrading when update software is available, make sure that the two detachable speakers have been docked onto the soundbar.  

 

Updating Through a USB Storage Device

  1. Check that you have saved the software update file to the root directory of a USB storage device.
  2. Check that you have docked the detachable speakers onto the soundbar. Connect the USB device.
  1. To enter the software update mode, press and hold the Power button and - on the soundbar for more than 10 seconds.

    → â€œUPDATE MODE” is displayed.

    → â€œWAIT”: Software updating underway

    → â€œDONE”: Software updating completed

    → The soundbar returns to the last selected source.
  • Keep the soundbar powered on and the USB storage device mounted before software updating is complete.

  • ”UPDATE FOUND DOCK SPKR” is displayed if the two detachable speakers are not properly mounted onto the soundbar.  

  • “PLUG-IN USB” is displayed if no USB storage device is detected, and 5 minutes later, the soundbar exits the software update mode.

  • “Error” is displayed if software updating has failed twice.
