2. Verify Basic Setup has Been Completed

In order to proceed with this guide successfully, your ecobee Smart Thermostat must be fully installed and functioning properly.

3. Use Privacy Mode

If you want your ecobee4 to stop listening to you, you can activate Privacy Mode by turning off the microphone.

To Turn Off the Microphone

1. Tap the microphone in the bottom right of your thermostat.
   

1. Switch the microphone Off.
   

1. Make sure your microphone turns red and has a line through it.
   

1. The Privacy Mode icon will show up on the main screen of the thermostat.
